This role offers an exciting opportunity to grow and develop your skills in a supportive, team-oriented environment. You'll be involved in designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable RedHat Linux servers, NetApp storage, Citrix/Exceed remote access, and IBM LSF compute clusters, working alongside a skilled team that will support your learning every step of the way.
While you'll take ownership of critical tasks like automating infrastructure, performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and providing front-line support to Ericsson Silicon staff, you'll also have plenty of opportunities to collaborate with experienced engineers and leverage their expertise. This balance of autonomy and teamwork will help you build confidence in your role, develop your technical expertise, and advance your career.
What You’ll Do
• Design, deploy, and maintain RedHat Linux infrastructure and associated software systems.
• Automate infrastructure tasks and improve system performance using scripting and configuration tools.
• Maintain, upgrade, and patch Linux systems and HPC clusters to ensure high availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with RedHat Linux servers and IBM LSF clusters to optimise performance.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as adding/removing hosts, resources, and queues in HPC environments.
• Handle support requests in ticketing systems (e.g., JIRA) and manage task prioritization effectively.
• Contribute to documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.
Skills You Bring
• 2-3 years of hands-on experience with RedHat Linux administration and a solid understanding of networking (TCP/IP, routing).
• Proficiency in Python or Bash scripting and solid experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins).
• Practical knowledge of Git/Gerrit for version control
• Practical knowledge of trouble ticketing systems (e.g., JIRA).
• Experience or familiarity with remote access solutions such as Citrix or Exceed.
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus)
• Understanding of IT security
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team and work with stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualisation technologies (VMware).
• Experience with containerisation technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with database management (Postgres, MySQL, MongoDB) and log management tools such as ELK stack or OpenSearch.
