About Ericsson GNP

Ericsson, through its Global Network Platform (GNP), aims to provide a top-tier wholesale aggregation platform for network APIs. GNP will buy and aggregate network APIs from hundreds of mobile Communication Service Providers (CSPs) worldwide, and sell such APIs to all potential channel buyers, such as Communication Platform as a Service (CPaaS) companies, Hyperscalers (HCPs), Global System Integrators (GSIs), CSPs, Large Digital Natives and Independent Software Vendors ("ISVs").  By enabling these enterprises and their developer ecosystems to access available APIs within familiar environments, we aim to expedite the introduction of new innovative use cases, thereby enhancing customer journeys and overall experiences.

At NewCo, securing a global industry-leading supply is a key strategic priority. We are looking for Carrier Managers to lead this effort by fostering constructive and effective relationships with Communication Service Providers (CSPs) worldwide.

What you will do

•    Strategic Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with CSPs to secure network API supplies at competitive prices and favourable service levels.

•    Negotiation and Contract Management: Lead negotiations to secure supply agreements, including NDAs, contract negotiations, and commercial agreements, ensuring attractive pricing and terms.

•    Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with other carrier managers and back-office support teams to streamline efforts and reduce lead times.

•    Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with legal, regulatory, commercial, pricing, product, and technical teams, as well as Ericsson market areas and customer units, to facilitate seamless operations.

•    Deliverables and Reporting: Ensure the completion of commercial agreements within established frameworks, enabling swift onboarding and continuous collaboration with CSPs. Report progress accurately using CRM tools, highlighting potential blockers, and proposing solutions.

•    Continuous Improvement: Proactively suggest improvements to the carrier management process and gather business intelligence from CSP engagements and targeted markets.

•    Competence Development: Stay updated on emerging APIs and local market needs to enhance personal and team competence.

The skills you bring

  • Experience: 5-10 years in product management, sales, system management, or related fields within exposure, core networks, or similar domains. Experience with CSP or CPaaS companies is advantageous but not essential.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of CSP business operations, negotiation strategies, and cost management is crucial.
  • Technical Expertise: Familiarity with network exposure and APIs, particularly Communications Services APIs and Network APIs, platform solutions, and aaS offerings.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both CSPs and internal stakeholders.
  • Education: Relevant higher education or equivalent work experience, ideally spanning both technology and business disciplines.
  • Personal Traits: A can-do attitude with a passion for achieving results and closing deals. Ability to make fact-based decisions under pressure and ambiguity. Proactively seeks improvement and drives change, aligning with our strategic direction and overall success for company.
