About this opportunity:

As a Standardization BO Simulation engineer for the Network Simulations section, we offer you the opportunity to contribute to the evaluation of the network characteristics and requirements of possible future products through simulation analysis. In this role, you will study different simulation scenarios and will have to opportunity to contribute to the definition of Standards for future telecom technologies. The simulation analysis result will be used internally for radio development and externally for 3GPP and spectrum standardization activities. You will contribute for network evolution into the upcoming technology generations 6G, and act as an interface to radio product management.

Our Network Simulations Section is part of the PEU Radio System & Technology department (RST) and influences the product definition and network evolutions processes inside Ericsson. We are responsible for performing network and radio system simulations in the early phases of multi-standard Radio products development. We deliver link level simulation results towards IMT standardization. Additionally, we are owners of the test vectors (IQ data generation) process for radio units verification test as well as traffic models definition.

What you will do:

• Perform link level simulations of wireless communication systems, providing tailored results based on stakeholder’s request. You will more specifically support 3GPP and regulatory spectrum standardization with co-existence and/or link level simulations.
• Implement network simulation models depending on the needs of new simulation requests and perform evaluation of the proposed solution.
• Propose improvement to the ways of working and execute the needed actions to obtain the expected results.
• You could also be inquired to evaluate different customer deployment scenarios for AAS radio products by driving studies and performing system simulations within the Early Phase project at PEU Radio (Radio Technology Evolution Program).

The skills you bring:

• We're looking for recent graduates with less than 3 years of relevant experience:
• MSc or PhD degree in Wireless Communications, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Computer Science, or similar technical field.
• Excellent English Skills both verbally and in writing.
• Experience with programming languages like MATLAB, Phyton, C/C++.
• Linux and basic scripting skills as well as software version control tools such as GIT.
• Knowledge or experience about LTE and 5G NR technology, more specifically RF competence.
• Some knowledge from link or system level simulation within radio base station development.
• You should have strong analytical skills to be used in problem solving.
• The daily work requires good team working skills.
• A successful applicant should be open-minded, take fact-based decisions and achieve results in a complex organization.
